Committees
The City Council encourages citizen participation in municipal government and welcomes your interest in serving on a city board, commission, or committee.
Appointments to city boards and commissions are made either by the Mayor or the City Council, or both, as in the case of the Budget Committee and the Water Commission. Terms on the various boards and commissions expire on January 31 of each year, and in November the city starts recruiting applicants for upcoming vacancies. Application forms are available in the City Manager's office, city hall room 312.
Residency within the city is a requirement for membership on most boards. The requirements for membership and further information on each of the city commissions listed below are contained in a Handbook of Boards, Commissions and Committees that is also available in the City Manager's office.
